Washington’s archery team participated in their first competition of the season at Albia High School Saturday afternoon. The high school team finished the event in second place with 3143 points.

Senior Alex Sinn scored 277 out of 300 possible points, finishing the competition in second place in the high school girls division and sixth overall. Sophomore John Sands scored 276 out of 300 points, finishing the competition fourth in the high school boys’ division and seventh overall. Sinn and Sands scored 13 bullseyes each in their flight. Washington was only outscored by Eldon High School who earned 3220 points.

The Washington archery team hosts their tournament this Saturday at Washington High School. The Demon’s flights are scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
