It’s been a struggle for the Winfield-Mt.Union girls’ basketball team this season. So far they are win less in the season with a record of 0-9. This is a far cry from last year when they went 19-5.
Offensively they only scored an average of 34.7 points per game. On defense they give up an average of 56.3 points per game. Head coach Mitch Wachs believes his team is not too far off from getting some wins following winter break, “I think it’s just a matter of being able to sustain and finish a fourth quarter and play that full 32 minutes. I think if we do that and everybody gets a taste of that, I think we will start to see some wins come our way.”
They will have their first crack at getting their first win of the season Saturday as they travel to New London (3-4).
