A senior’s last second heroics helped the Washington Demon boys’ basketball team (5-6 overall; 1-1 Southeast) earn their second victory in as many days. The Demons traveled to Bloomfield for a non-conference clash with the Davis County Mustangs (8-6 overall).

The game came down to the final seconds as senior guard Thomas Bump hit the game-winning three-point shot with 3 seconds left to secure a 62-61 win over the Mustangs. Bump finished the game with 16 points. The Demons made 15 three-pointers in the game, tying a school record.

The victory improves Washington to 5-6 overall and 4-1 since the beginning of 2015. The Demons return to the court Friday evening against the Fairfield Trojans at Washington High School. Listen to the game on FM 106.1 and KCIIRadio.com beginning at 5:45 p.m. with the Washington Hy-Vee Pregame Show for the girls’ contest.
