The decision to cancel or delay school is made the morning of at Mid-Prairie School District. According to Superintendent Mark Schneider, he wakes up early to check out road conditions when snow or ice is in the forecast. Before making a decision, he travels on paved and gravel roads maintained by the county, as well as Highway 1 and 22. If it’s determined that a delay or cancellation is necessary, he lets the public know by 6am.
