A four-month-old is in critical condition at the University of Iowa Hospital, and her father is in custody. The Columbus Junction Police Department was notified on Monday that the infant was transported to the University of Iowa Hospital for severe head trauma.

On Tuesday, Oscar Jimenez was arrested for one count of Multiple Acts of Child Endangerment after authorities searched his home in Columbus Junction. The 20-year-old’s charge is a class B felony that carries a maximum sentence of 50 years. According to Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation Special Agent, Richard Rahn, Jimenez is currently being held at the Louisa County Jail.

Agencies involved in the joint criminal investigation include the Iowa DCI, the Columbus Junction Police Department, Louisa County Sheriff’s Office, Department of Human Services, Louisa County Attorney’s Office and the Iowa Attorney General’s Office.
