The Washington City Council approved two sewer projects at their meeting last night. A contract with Veenstra and Kimm, Inc., was approved for a flow metering project. By metering seven intersections throughout town data regarding the sanitary sewer collection system will be gathered. To do the project, the meters have to be rented for the three month period from March to May, at the cost of $32,970. Total engineering services for the metering project is estimated at $37,470.

The other project approved by council is the televising of the egg sewer. This sewer line is over a century old and is made of brick, it is termed “the egg sewer” due to its oblong shape. Visu-Sewer will complete the project at the cost of $1.90 per linear foot, so to televise the 4,750 feet of the sanitary sewer line it will cost the city about $9,000.
