Most ice in Washington County is thick enough to support at least one person. According to Washington County Conservation Director, Steve Anderson, ponds they maintain, like Crawford Pond, Foster Pond and the 6 acre lake at Marr Park, will provide some excellent fishing this winter.

He says the county has several small ponds and some that aren’t ready for fishing, including the upper pond at Marr Park, which was recently renovated.

Those that would like more information are encouraged to call the conservation office.
