After going cold from the field late in the first half, the Washington Demon girls’ basketball team (3-8 overall; 0-3 Southeast) responded with a strong second half performance. The Demons traveled to Ottumwa Friday night for a non-conference battle with the Bulldogs.

As you heard on FM 106.1 and KCIIRadio.com. The Demons were outscored 19-11 in the first quarter and 11-2 in the second quarter to head into the halftime locker room with a 30-13 deficit. The Demon went toe to toe with Ottumwa in the second half, getting outscored 23-19 in a 54-33 setback.

Senior Amber Salow and junior forward Addie Pacha combined for 23 of the 33 points for Washington. Salow was eight of nine from the free throw line, six of which were made in the fourth quarter, and finished with a game-high 13 points. Pacha scored 10 points, six in the first quarter, and grabbed down seven rebounds in the setback.
