Getting behind 11-0 set the tone Friday evening for the Washington Demon girls’ basketball team (4-10 overall) against the Fairfield Trojans (11-4) As you heard on FM 106.1 and KCIIRadio.com Washington scored just eight first half points, six by senior guard Dylan Schluetter, as the Demons fell to the Trojans 41-28.

Schluetter ended the game as the leading scorer and scored all her points in the first quarter. Junior guard Amber Salow chipped in five points in the setback. The loss was the second straight for Washington against Fairfield, and all but eliminates Washington’s chance at a conference championships.

Head Coach Jay Zieglowsky says after tonight’s performance, he is ready to switch up his lineup. “We have a practice on Sunday and it is going to be job auditions.” Zieglowsky said, “Energy, enthusiasm, and effort is going to win them a starting spot Monday night against Central Lee.”

Washington returns to the court Monday evening in a non conference tilt with the Central Lee Hawks in Donaldson.
