Iowa’s senior senator, Republican Chuck Grassley, says he believes a bill regarding the Keystone XL Pipeline will be on the president’s desk soon, with the Senate acting on it yet this week. On Sunday, President Barack Obama called on Congress to protect the Coastal Plain of Alaska as a wilderness refuge.

Grassley says the Republican led Senate has changed from last year’s in operations. He states last year 20 roll call votes were taken, while there have already been 20 in less than a week of the new session. The Senate is now made up of 54 Republicans, 44 Democrats and two Independents.
