The Iowa Mennonite school boys’ basketball team played at home against conference opponent the Wapello Indians. It was game heard on AM 1380, FM 102.5 and on KCIIradio.com. It was a game expected to be all IMS when you look at the records with Wapello still winless in the season. Instead, the game had 20 lead changes and five ties. IMS walked away with the victory with a score of 66-57.
After the end of the first quarter, the Indians led 16-14. IMS would take back the lead going into halftime with a score of 30-27. By the end of the third IMS held on to a slim lead with a score of 44-43. With under four minutes to go the Indians were up by six points with a score of 55-49. IMS kicked it into high gear going on a 16-2 run to finish the game.
IMS senior Peyton Miller finished the game with 20 points and six rebounds. Senior Danny Lam had 15 points and junior Eli Gingerich scored 11 points.
IMS is now 7-3 and will next play at home against WACO Friday at IMS.
