The Washington County Public Library Association gave a presentation and asked for the same amount of funding from the Washington County Board of Supervisors at their meeting this week. The three libraries, Kalona, Washington and Wellman, are asking the supervisors for a total of $158,632. Anne Skaden, Director of the Kalona Public Library, explained as of June 30th, the end of the fiscal year, nearly 3,000 rural residents in Washington County have library cards to one of the three public libraries in the county.

Also, Skaden explained they have a new IT contract with a Kalona company, iTech, which is saving the association money compared to the previously held contract with a different vendor.
