A Columbus Junction man has pled not guilty to child endangerment. Oscar Jimenez was arrested last Wednesday, a day after his four-month-old daughter suffered severe head trauma and had to be transported to the University of Iowa Hospital.

The 20-year-old was taken into custody following a search of his home in Columbus Junction. According to Iowa Department of Criminal Investigation Special Agent Richard Rahn, the type of evidence found during the search that incriminated Jimenez is being kept confidential. He’s charged with multiple acts of child endangerment, a class B felony punishable by up to 50 years in prison.

Jimenez is currently being held at the Louisa County Jail on $250,000 cash only bond. His preliminary hearing is set for Friday morning.
