The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk wrestling team hosted a dual meet against the Wilton Beaver’s last night. Mid-Prairie would lose a close battle with the Beavers 38-36.
The Golden Hawks who have been strong all year in their light weight classes got 24 points from weight classes 106 to 126 pounds. In the middle of the line up is where Wilton dominated scoring 26-0 in weight classes 132- 170 pounds. Mid-Prairie got 12 points from their heavier weight classes at 182- 220 pounds.
Sophomore Duncan McCain kept his perfect record intact getting a forfeit in the match. McCain stand right now with a record of 32-0. Josh Murphy at 120 pounds would win his match with a fall in the first period. Cameron Tolander (182) and Levi Duwa (195) both got credited with six points with forfeits.
Mid-Prairie will be going to Center Point-Urbana High School in a dual team tournament on Saturday. Teams participating in the tournament are Center Point-Urabana and New London.
