Slipper, moth and boat are just three of the many kinds of orchids. Washington County Master Gardeners are having a special presentation called “The World of Orchids” and it is open to the public. Nile Dusdieker, a certified American Society Judge for the Chicago Judging Center of orchid growers, will be giving the public presentation at the Washington County Extension Office. He has been growing orchids for over 25 years and raises 900 each year in his greenhouse which he then transplants and he has also published articles about orchids.

On January 27th, he will define an orchid as well as discuss several common orchids, their culture and pests to the plant. The presentation will be held at 6:30 p.m. January 27th at the extension office.
