Three men have been selected as finalists for the Washington Community School District superintendent position. William Stone is in his fifth year as superintendent with the Corning and Villisca Community School Districts and prior to that he served as a teacher, activities director and assistant principal. Stone is a graduate of Pekin.

Jeff Dicks is in his eighth year as superintendent for the Newell-Fonda School District and is a shared superintendent with the Albert City-Truesdale Community School District, previously he served as a high school principal and basketball coach. He was a 2013 finalist for Iowa Superintendent of the Year.

Larry Hunt is the third finalist and currently is in his fourth year as the superintendent at the Dike-New Hartford School District. Prior to that, Hunt was a high school and alternative high school principal and an industrial technology teacher and driver education instructor.

The three finalists will be interviewed by a board made of community members, teachers, staff, parents and administration.
