A special investigation into Mid-Prairie’s finances over a two year period has revealed what a former business manager used a district credit card for.Auditor of State Mary Mosiman recently released the findings of her office’s investigation into the district’s finances between July 1st, 2012 and June 30th, 2014.

Over $7,000 in improper disbursements for purchases former business manager Cindy Steege made were indentified. According to the report, the North Liberty resident used the district’s procurement card to pay nearly $3,400 worth of personal cell phone bills. She also used the card at retail stores, restaurants and grocery stores.

Steege is charged with second degree theft. Her trial begins February 24th.
