An exit agreement for three counties wishing to leave RUSS, Regional Utility Service Systems, was approved by the RUSS board and is now being considered by the 10 member counties. At yesterday’s Washington County Board of Supervisors meeting, Supervisor Stan Stoops who attended last week’s RUSS meeting, said the exit agreement is for 4.5 years of current membership dues.

Supervisor Jack Seward said it does appear that the agreement is going to be accepted but it is not clear at this time when the exit will take place. At this time Washington County Attorney Shawn Showers is reviewing the agreement before the supervisors take action on the item next week. Washington, Mahaska and Wapello counties are trying to leave RUSS.
