Multiple vehicles collided yesterday afternoon on Wayland Road while it was snowing. According to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, at approximately 4:20 p.m., the three-vehicle wreck with at least one injury and one subject trapped was reported in the 2600 block of Wayland Road, near the Washington Country Club. The drivers involved in the accident were Conrad Yutzy of Kalona, Nicholas Dittrich of Washington and Aaron Blodgett of Washington.

The Dittrich’s Ford Taurus was travelling northbound on W-55 when it collided with the Yutzy Ford Ranger which was travelling southbound but had lost control and crossed the center line due to snow and ice on the road. The Blodgett vehicle was also travelling southbound and collided with the Ford Taurus.

One subject in the backseat of the Taurus was transported by ambulance to the Washington County Hospital for head injuries. Washington County Sheriff’s personnel, Washington police, Washington County Ambulance, Washington Rescue and Washington Fire Department responded to the scene.
