The Washington Demons girls basketball team were able to start the 2016 calendar year with a victory. The Demons traveled to Burlington for a non-conference battle for the Grayhounds Saturday evening. Washington senior Dylann Schuletter scored a game-high 13 points to help Washington snap a four game losing streak with a 51-45 victory over the Grayhounds. Freshman guard Sarah Nacos added 10 points off the bench in the victory, which was the first for the Demons since Dec. 8 against the Williamsburg Raiders.
Washington girls’ basketball team returns to the court Tuesday evening in a Southeast Conference showdown with the Fort Madison Bloodhounds at Fort Madison High School.
