There will be limited seating at an upcoming re-premiere of films that haven’t been shown to the public in 100 years. The films are part of the Brinton Film Collection discovered by Michael Zahs thirty years ago. The collection was originally owned by Washington County couple Frank and Indiana Brinton. They toured the country presenting the films during the late 1800s and early 1900s.

The premieres on March 6th and 7th will be held at and be a benefit for the Ainsworth Opera House which is celebrating its centennial this year.

KCII recently sat down with Zahs to discuss the premiere and significance of the collection. That discussion will be aired during this week’s In Touch with Southeast Iowa programs. In today’s segment, we’ll focus on what’s known about the Brintons, and how Zahs came to own their collection of historic films.

To reserve a spot at the 7 p.m. screenings on the 6th and 7th, contact Zahs at 653-6250 or mikezahs@gmail.com.
