Last night the temperature dropped to -4 degrees in Washington, while yesterday’s high temperature was in the single digits at just 9 degrees above zero. A windchill advisory was in effect for most of the KCII listening area Wednesday and into Thursday.

According to AccuWeather, up to 1.3 inches of snow may fall in Washington today, tomorrow and Saturday. Most of the snow is expected Saturday morning and early evening.

Area residents are reminded to take extra care of outdoor animals during this winter weather. Check water dishes to make sure pets still have access to drinking water and insulate kennels with grasses to give pets a place to bed down.
