The Washington Demon boys’ basketball team’s (5-13 overall; 1-6 Southeast) final opportunity to earn their second Southeast conference win of the season will take place tonight. The Demons will roadtrip this evening to Fairfield for a conference clash with the Trojans. (5-14 overall).

The first meeting between the schools has served as a turning point in Washington’s boys’ basketball season. Sitting one win away from .500 at 5-6, Washington lost a 44-42 battle with Fairfield on Jan. 23. The loss was the first of six straight setbacks for the Demons, dropping their overall record to 5-13.

In Washington’s latest game, the Demons fell to the Mount Pleasant Panthers 63-55 Friday evening in Mount Pleasant. Washington, which led 44-42 at the end of the 3rd quarter, was outscored 22-13 in the final eight minutes of the game. Senior Gage Redlinger scored a career-high 21 point in his final regular season game against Mount Pleasant, while senior Thomas Bump added 15 points in the setback.
