Entering the final month of the regular season, the Washington Demon girls’ basketball team (5-13 overall; 0-6 Southeast) picked a good time to play their best basketball game of the season. As heard on FM 106.1 and KCIIRadio.com, the Demons welcomed in the Davis County Mustangs (10-9 overall) to town of a non-conference showdown Tuesday evening at Washington High School.

The victory was just the second home win for Washington this season, and first since the fourth game of the season against the Williamsburg Raiders.

Three Washington players scored in double figures last night, led by junior guard Amber Salow’s game-high 15 points, as the Demons ran away with a 65-48 victory over the Mustangs. Junior forward Addie Pacha added 14 points and grabbed down eight rebounds in the victory. Junior guard Morgan Kimball had 10 points, while senior forward Sydney Hoffman contributed nine points and brought down six rebounds in the game.

Sixty-five points is the largest point total scored in a game by Washington’s girls’ basketball team this season, and is the fourth straight game the Demons have scored over 40 points offensively.

The victory snaps a season-long five game losing streak for Washington, who improved to 5-13 overall this season. The girls return to action this Friday evening in a Southeast Conference clash with the Fort Madison Bloodhounds at Washington High School, and you can hear live play-by-play action on FM 106.1 and KCIIRadio.com with the pregame show at 5:45 p.m.
