The Emerald Ash Borer is now in Keokuk County. An infestation of the ash tree killing insect was confirmed in the small town of Hedrick last week. Nineteen counties in Iowa, including Henry, Jefferson, Des Moines, Muscatine and Wapello, have had infestations positively identified by the Iowa EAB Team.

The Iowa EAB Team includes officials from Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship, Iowa State University Extension and Outreach, the Iowa Department of Natural Resources, USDA Animal Plant Health Inspection Service and the USDA Forest Service.

A statewide quarantine restricting the movement of ash tree products has been in effect since February 4th of last year.
