The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawks girls’ basketball team played in their first round basketball game versus the Williamsburg Raiders. As heard on AM 1380, FM 102.5 and on KCIIradio.com the Golden Hawks came away with the victory 60-35.

Mid-Prairie lead most of the first half with a halftime score of 32-24. The Golden Hawks got on a 15-4 run in the third quarter to extend the lead and put the game out of reach.

Mid-Prairie got a big game from senior Ali Riggan who had 12 points to finish the game all coming from the first half and from three point range. Freshman Addison Rath in her first start of the season got 11 points and sophomore Ali Butter got nine points coming off the bench.

The Golden Hawks move into the second round and will play on Wednesday night to take on either Benton Community or Solon. Live play-by-play coverage of the game can be heard starting with the Washington Hy-Vee pregame show at 6:30 p.m. on AM 1380, FM 102.5 and on KCIIradio.com.
