Despite a cold shooting night from beyond the arc, the Highland Huskies boys’ basketball (18-4 overall) has advanced themselves to the championship game of the Class 2A District 10 tournament. Highland squared off against the Central Lee Hawks Thursday evening at Notre Dame High School in Burlington.

Highland junior Tereze Lanfair had a team-high 16 points and brought down eight rebounds to help propel the Huskies to a 54-50 victory over the Central Lee Hawks. Highland overcame a tough shooting night, going 0-15 from the three point line the victory. Sophomore Trent Lasek added 13 points in victory.

Highland advances to Tuesday’s district championship game where they will face the West Burlington Falcons (12-10 overall). The Falcons upset the Notre Dame Nikes (19-3 overall) 70-65 in the other Class 2A District 10 semifinal game. The regional final takes place Tuesday evening at 7 p.m. at Mount Pleasant High School.
