The Iowa Mennonite School boys’ basketball team (14-8) won in the first round of the playoffs last night as they traveled to Montezuma to take on the HLV Warriors (3-19). As heard on AM 1380, FM 102.5 and on KCIIradio.com, IMS got the blowout win with a score of 70-31.

In the second quarter IMS outscored HLV 20-9, to making the score 34-16 at half. IMS followed that up in the third quarter outscoring the Warriors 23-8, with the score at the end of the third at 57-24. In the final quarter back up players got some postseason experience for both teams with the game out of reach.

IMS senior Kobi Russom finished the game with 21 points. Senior Danny Lam had 17 points and senior Peyton Miller scored14 points.

IMS moves on to the second round where they will play Tuesday against Montezuma. KCII will broadcast the game live starting with the pregame show at 7:30 on AM 1380, FM 102.5 and on KCIIradio.com.
