The Iowa Mennonite School boys’ basketball team (12-6) will look to get a sweep tonight against top Southeastern Super Conference North leader the Lone Tree Lions (15-3).
The last match up was a close one between these two schools with IMS getting the victory at Lone Tree earlier in the year 67-61. In that game IMS had six players score in double figures.
IMS is led on offense by junior Eli Gingerich who averages 16.7 points per game and is shooting 90 percent from the charity stripe. Another player that has stepped up on offense to help compliment Gingerich is senior Peyton Miller who averages 10.1 points per game and scored 14 points in a losing effort against the Winfield-Mt.Union Wolves (57-43).
Lone Tree comes into this game on a five-game winning streak and averages 61.8 points per game. They are lead on offense by senior Nick Viner who averages 15.4 points per game shooting 53.3 percent from the field and 45.5 percent from three-point range. Sophomore Jovonte Squiers averages 12.9 points per game and is the Lions’ best free throw shooter at 79.6 percent.
The game will take place at Iowa Mennonite School tonight and you can catch the game live on the air here on KCII starting with the Washington Hy-Vee pregame show right after the girls’ game on AM 1380, FM 102.5 and on KCIIradio.com.
