The Iowa Mennonite School boys’ basketball team (13-9) saw their season end last night in Brooklyn at the hands of the Montezuma Braves (21-3.) As heard on AM 1380, FM 102.5 and KCIIradio.com IMS lost in the sectional match-up, 46-39.

The game was close at the end of the first quarter with IMS only down by a basket, 9-7. In the second, Montezuma kicked it into high gear, outscoring IMS 11-3 . At halftime IMS was down by 10, 20-10.

In the third quarter, the Braves extended the lead even more outscoring IMS 17-9 to make the score at the end of the third 37-19. In the fourth, Iowa Mennonite School staged a bit of a comeback, but couldn’t dig themselves out of the hole to try to come out on top.

IMS was led by senior Peyton Miller, who had 19 points to finish out the game. Junior Eli Gingerich was limited in this game, scoring just five points.

The Braves had three players score in double figures to finish out the game.

IMS finishes the season with a record of 13-9 and will be graduating four seniors with all of them been starters.  They include Kirby Shelter, Payton Miller, Danny Lam, and Kobi Russom.
