The Iowa Mennonite School boys’ basketball team (12-7) were looking to sweep their in conference opponent the Lone Tree Lions (16-3) last night. As heard on AM 1380, FM 102.5 and on KCIIradio.com IMS would come up short on the sweep losing with a score of 47-46.
IMS got off to a fast start in this game with IMS up in the first quarter 16-7. The Lions were able to cut the lead going to half with Lone Tree down by four 20-16. In the third quarter the offense for Lone Tree finally got going scoring 19 points in the third quarter. Lone Tree up by a basket 35-33. IMS got it within one point with six seconds in the fourth quarter, but were unable to get the ball back as time would expire.
IMS was lead by junior Eli Gingerich on offense who scored 13 points in the contest. Senior Kobi Russom had a solid game scoring 10 points in the game.
