It was senior night for the Iowa Mennonite School Girls’ basketball team (3-17) who were looking to break a eight game losing streak coming into this match up as they played in a Southeast Iowa Super Conference North matchup with the Lone Tree Lions (8-12). As heard on AM 1380, FM 102.5 and on KCIIradio.com IMS feel short in this one 28-25.
It was a defensive struggle for both teams with the score Lone Tree up by three 12-9 at halftime. In the second half IMS got it within a basket a few times, but never had the lead in any point of the game.
Senior Riley Schmieder had a rough night offensively in her last game at hill crest union. Schmider who averages 13 points a game only got three points in the loss. She did go over 250 points this season during the game. Senior Hannah Miller had a solid game for IMS to keep them in the game with 11 points all in the second half.
IMS falls to 3-17 in the season and will take on the Harmony Rockets (1-20) today in Farmington.
