Several other KCII area wrestling athletes have qualified for the state competiton this upcoming week in Des Moines.

The Sigourney Keota wrestling team qualified five wrestlers for the state tournament in the Class 1A District 4 including: senior Nathan Fritz (1st; 145), junior Lane Boender (1st; 152), freshman Kaleb Reeves (2nd; 182), sophomore Noah Boender (1st; 220), and senior Bryce Brown (1st; 285).

The Highland Huskies qualified three wrestlers for state in the Class 1A District 8 tournament including: sophomore Drew West (1st; 113), sophomore Bryce West (1st; 120) and Zach Kleopfer (2nd, 160). Lone Tree senior Alex Yedlik (1st; 170) also qualified for state from the Class 1A District 8 tournament. The WACO Warriors, who had two wrestlers competing in the district tournament, didn’t qualify anyone for this weekends state tournament.

The Columbus-Winfield Mount Union wrestling team has four wrestlers qualify from the Class 2 District 4 tournament including: junior Josh Keller (2nd; 106), senior Mitchell Griffin (1st; 113), sophomore Tucker Morrison (1st; 170), and senior Kyle Davis (2nd 285).

The 2015 Iowa High School Athletic Assciation State Wrestling tournament begins at Thursday at 9 a.m. at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines.
