Several KCII area wrestlers placed well in the Southeast Iowa Super Conference tournament this Saturday at Wapello High School.

In weight class 106, Columbus/Winfield-Mount Union junior Josh Keller is the conference champion after pinning New London’s Sam Lloyd in the championship match.

In weight class 113, Highland sophomore Drew West won the first place match by pinning Columbus senior Mitchell Griffin in the championship match.

In weight class 120, Highland sophomore Bryce West is your conference champion by posting a major decision against Mediapolis’s Brennan Swafford.

In weight class 126, Columbus/Winfield-Mount Union junior Keaton Pallister is the conference champion after pinning Medaipolis’s Shea Swafford in the championship match.

In weight class 145, Lone Tree senior Alex Yedlik is your conference championship after winning a 10-5 decision over Wapello’s Logan Grimm in the championship match. Columbus senior Austin Edwards finished in third place after winning a 7-0 decision in the third place match.

In weight class 160, Highland senior Zach Kleoper ended in second place after Mediapolis’s Cole Erickson defeated him by technical fall in the championship bout.

In weight class 220, Columbus/Winfield-Mount Union junior Kyle Giese finished in third place after an injury default over Cardinal of Eldon’s Asa Houston in the third place match.

Finally in weight class 285, Columbus/Winfield-Mount Union senior Kyle Davis finished in second place after losing a 4-3 decision to New London’s Avery Jacobs in the championship match.

KCII area schools will participate in sectional tournaments around Southeast Iowa this weekend. Columbus/Winfield Mount Union is scheduled to compete in the sectional tournament at Mediapolis High School. Highland and Lone Tree will take part in the sectional tournament at English Valleys High School.
