Thirty-two minutes wasn’t enough time to decide the Class 1A District 10 boys tournament opener between the Keota Eagle (12-10 overall) and the Twin Cedar Sabers (12-10). As heard on FM 106.1 and KCIIRadio.com, the Eagles and Sabers needed an extra four minutes to decided their postseason opener, with Twin Cedars coming away 71-66 victory at Sigourney High School.

Twin Cedar’s senior guard Otis Roby had a game-high 38 points and brought down 23 rebounds in the victory. Keota had a good scoring night from two of their forwards. Senior forward Nate Owen had a team-high 23 points in his final game in an Eagle uniform, while sophomore forward Avery Conrad added 20 points in the setback.

The win improves Twin Cedars to 12-10 overall and advances the Sabers into the district semifinal against the Sigourney Savages. The loss ends Keota’s boys’ basketball team with an overall record of 12-10.
