Volunteers with a Wayland based non-profit plan to continue growing a donation network they started building last year. The volunteers with On His Path called it Mission:Mobility, and a year later the network has grown to include groups collecting donations in 18 states.

According to primary volunteer and collections coordinator, Rick Fulton, the groups are all involved with Bethel Ministries International which provides medical equipment to the poor in Guatemala. Last year, they sent a shipping container to the South American country from Kentucky and Pennsylvania, and two from the City of Washington. The containers were filled with anywhere from 80 to 125 wheelchairs, as well as a variety other equipment, including crutches, canes and walkers.

Fulton says if someone has mobility equipment they’d like to donate, even if it’s a broken wheelchair, they can arrange to pick it up. Those interested in donating should call On His Path directly.
