The Mid-Prairie wrestling team advanced four wrestlers to districts on Saturday. The Golden Hawks competed at sectionals in Benton and wrestlers must finish in at least second place in order to go on into districts.
Sophomore Duncan McCain (113) took second place in his bracket. McCain won his second place match with a fall and lost in his first place match on a fall.
Senior Visouth Peterschmidt (170) also placed second in his bracket. He won his second place match with a fall and lost his first place match on a decision.
Junior Cameron Tolander (182) finished in second place with a rule call and lost his first place match on a decision.
Sophomore Levi Duwa (195) got first place in his bracket winning on a fall.
The four wrestlers for Mid-Prairie will go to districts at Solon High School on Saturday. The top two place winners in each weight class in districts will then head to Des Moines for the state wrestling tournament at Wells Fargo Arena.
