The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk girl’s basketball team (14-7) will begin postseason play tonight at home as they take on the Williamsburg Raiders (4-18).

The Golden Hawks enter the postseason coming off of a poor performance defensively, giving up a season-high 62 points. On offense Mid-Prairie is averaging 47.6 points per game. They are led on offense by senior Taylor Kurtz who averages nine points and 6.2 rebounds per game.

So far this season Kurtz has racked up 188 points. Also four other Golden Hawks have scored over the 100 point mark, they are: Alex Rath (153), Ali Riggan (146), Addison Rath (116), and Ali Butters (102).

The Raiders have struggled on the offensive side of the court this year, only scoring 32.4 points per game. Williamsburg leading scorer is senior Claire Simmons with 10.7 points per game and she is shooting 38.1 percent from the field.
