Three Mid-Prairie wrestlers are competing today for their chance to get an individual state title. Sophomore Duncan McCain (113), junior Cameron Tolander (182) and sophomore Levi Duwa (195) are the Golden Hawks battling at the State tournament. Also, this is the first state berth for McCain, Tolander, and Duwa.

McCain (45-3) is scheduled to face Atlantic’s Carter Cox (42-8) in his debut match up.

Tolander (35-9) is wrestling Algona’s Joe Teague (38-1) in the first round.

Duwa (36-6) is battling Denver-Tripoli’s junior Izach Shedenhelm (36-1) in his first bout.

The Class 2A tournament begins at 1:30 p.m. at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines. Listen to KCII throughout the afternoon for updates from the tournament.
