Snow falling on Main Street in Washington at 6:30 a.m. today.

Light snow began falling in the area this morning and one to three inches of accumulation is in the forecast. According to the National Weather Service, the first three days of February Washington received just over an inch of snow, while the normal is about one-tenth of an inch of snow.

Since July 1st, nearly 22 inches of snow has been observed in Washington. The normal rate for the same time period is 14.3 inches. The record high was three feet of snow in 1979.
