The Riverside Fire Department’s finances will be the focus of a workshop tonight. The city was recently told that tax dollars from the townships served by the department should go through the city first for auditing purposes.

At a public hearing held last month, City Administrator Rusty Rogerson told the council that the city had been advised to hold off on purchasing a new fire truck until the issue was resolved. A meeting with a consultant has been scheduled for tonight.

It begins at 6 p.m. The city council’s regular meeting is being held Thursday.
