A third and final meeting between South Iowa Cedar League rivals Sigourney and Lynnvillle-Sully takes place this evening. The Savages and Hawks boys’ basketball teams will square off tonight in the Class 1A District 10 tournament at Knoxville High School.

The two teams split their regular season series, with the road team winning each conference battle. Sigourney won the first meeting of the year 66-51 in Sully on Dec. 19. Lynville-Sully got even with the Savages, stealing a 52-43 victory in Sigourney on Feb 3rd.

The Savages come into tonight’s district championship showdown winners of their last four games, including a 63-53 victory over the Twin Cedar Sabers in the Class 1A District 10 semifinal matchup at Molten-Udell High School Tuesday evening.  Junior Blane Gretter has led the way for the Savages during the winning streak, averaging  21.5 points and 11 rebounds over the last four games.
