Temperatures Below, Snowfall Above Norms

February 1st, 2015, snowfall.

While average temperatures for Washington during the month of February have been below normal, the observed snowfall has been nearly three times normal. According to the National Weather Service, the average temperature this month was 15.3 degrees, while the normal is 10 degrees warmer at 25.3.

Snowfall is normally 6.9 inches for the month of February, but we have received over a foot of snow with 15 inches recorded. Since July 1st, Washington has received more than two feet of snow and more is in the forecast for this weekend.
