Less than 24 hours after suffering major losses to Southeast Conference foe Fort Madison, the Washington Demon girls’ (6-14 overall; 0-7 Southeast) and boys’ (5-11 overall; 1-6 Southeast) basketball teams returned to the court for a non-conference battle with the Tipton Tigers Saturday afternoon.

After suffering a 22 point loss to the Bloodhounds on Friday, Washington’s girls’ basketball team responded the following day with a 43-37 victory over the Tigers (1-19 overall). Junior forward Addie Pacha scored a game-high 10 points and brought down six rebounds in the victory. Freshman guard Sarah Nacos added eight points and swiped three steals for the Demons. The victory is the second win for the Demons in their last three games and improves Washington’s overall record to 6-14 on the season.

The Washington Demon boys’ didn’t fare as well against the Tigers (11-9 overall), falling 70-56. The loss is the fifth straight for the Demons, who dropped their overall record to 5-11.
