A winter storm warning has been issued for Washington County, as well as Keokuk, Iowa and Johnson counties from 9 a.m. Wednesday to 3 a.m. Thursday. According to the National Weather Service, this winter storm will bring widespread significant snowfall with accumulations from 6 to 9 inches. The snow will be powdery in nature and will be prone to drifting. Winds are expected to be between 10 and 15 miles per hour with gusts reaching 20 miles per hour. Visibility will be less than a half miles at times.

The National Weather Service advises heavy snow means travel conditions will be dangerous and only travel in an emergency.
