A handful of car accidents occurred in Washington County during yesterday’s snow. At 11:48 a.m. it was reported that a semi had jack-knifed on Highway 218, at 280th Street, near Crawfordsville. A second semi jack-knifed south of Highway 22 on Highway 218, near Riverside at approximately 7:12 p.m. The Iowa Department of Natural Resources was contacted for the second accident, in regards to a diesel spill.

Also, a tree reportedly fell in Wellman, knocking down a power line in the 400 block of 4th Street.

In addition, at least four cars were towed in the City of Washington due to cars not being moved from streets during the city’s declared snow emergency. Listen to KCII for road conditions throughout Southeast Iowa.
