Drought conditions across Iowa have increased, impacting three times more area than last week. Currently 23.15 percent of Iowa is considered abnormally dry, while last week only 7.71 percent was in the same category. All of the dry conditions are in Northern Iowa, north of Highway 20 mostly.

At this time last year, 6.84 percent of the state was in severe drought and nearly half of the state was in moderate drought, with 83.9 percent at least abnormally dry.
