Five members of this year’s Columbus/Winfield-Mount Union wrestling squad earned All-Conference honors.

Junior Josh Keller (106) earned First Team All-Conference honors by placing first his respective weight class at the Southeast Iowa Super Conference tournament. Keller pinned New London’s Sam Lloyd a minute and two seconds into the championship bout. Keller finished the season as the state runner up in his tournament bracket.

Sophomore Tucker Morrison (170) also claimed first team honors by a 3-1 sudden victory over Mediapolis’s Cole Erikson in the championship match. Morrison finished the year as a state medal winner, finishing in eighth place in his weight division.

Seniors Mitchel Griffin (113) and Kyle Davis (285) each gained Second Team All-Conference honors after falling in the championship match of their respective bracket. Griffin was pinned by Drew West in their dual, while Davis lost a 4-3 decision to New London’s Avery Jacobs in the conference championship match. Davis ended his wrestling career on the podium at the state tournament, placing eighth in his tournament bracket. Griffin also qualified for state, but was eliminated before the medal round.

Senior Austin Edwards (145) finished as an All-Conference honorable mention after finishing in third place in his weight division. Edwards qualified for state, but was eliminated prior to the medal round.
