Last night, ice and rain fell across the area, causing slick roads this morning. Ray Miller with WeatherEye advises people to be careful on their morning commutes. Many area schools cancelled or delayed classes. Miller adds conditions are expected to improve as the day progresses and temperatures rise.

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for Washington County until noon today. This effect impacts Keokuk, Iowa, Johnson and Louisa counties as well. The National Weather Service has issued the advisory for snow, sleet or light freezing rain. Snow accumulations of up to an inch may occur.
