The Iowa Mennonite School boys’ soccer team is set to start another season after going 10-10 last year. They lost quite a bit of experience from last year, but do bring back five seniors who played last year three of which who started Kirby Shetler, Kobi Russom, and Micheal Hershberger. Shetler had a shot on goal percentage of 52 percent. Russom had 25 kicks that were shots on goal.

With the weather being nice, teams have been able to practice more outside than in years past. IMS coach Marcus Miller explains the difference of practicing outside rather than inside, “When you’re outside you’re on grass which is the playing conditions you will be playing on and you don’t have to worry about balls flying all over the place, like you do when you’re inside. You can do a little more running and conditioning. It just gives you more flexibility and space.”

IMS will begin their soccer season at home against Des Moines Christian on Thursday, April 9th.
